People often ask me for “bridezilla” stories when they find out I’m a wedding photographer. And while I’d love to entertain them with some wild, dramatic tale, the truth is—nothing really comes to mind.I genuinely believe that we attract what we project—through our work, our energy, our behavior, and the way we carry ourselves in everyday life.

That thought came to me again when I was reflecting on Camille and Courtney’s wedding. They are two of the kindest, most down-to-earth people you could hope to photograph—laid-back, gracious, effortlessly stylish, and with impeccable taste. The kind of couple who always seem to be surrounded by equally warm, funny, and generous people. It was a pure joy to be a part of their celebration.

A bit about their wedding — The day began with preparations at the La Salle Hotel, conveniently located near the Chicago Board of Trade, making it a perfect spot for their first look. Afterward, we roamed the city and stopped at Chicago Union Station to capture some stunning bridal portraits.

The ceremony and reception were held at Ovation Chicago, a venue I had dreamed of photographing ever since I started shooting weddings ten years ago. With the couple’s vision and the expert planning by Jenn from A Fresh Event, Ovation was transformed into a space of refined elegance. Naturally, no Ovation wedding would be complete without a classic Rolls-Royce ride around the neighborhood—offering yet another opportunity for some breathtaking portraits. Following heartfelt toasts and a romantic first dance, the party kicked into high gear, with a packed dance floor that stayed lively for hours. It was truly a one-of-a-kind, unforgettable evening.
