Being able to walk to an engagement session doesn’t happen often, but in the case of Portage Park couple Joanna and David, we were on location in minutes!
Let’s start off with the fact that Joanna and David are a down to earth couple and extremely fun to photograph. They invited us to their house and offered espresso and home made bruschetta, deliciously prepared by Joanna. One of the first things we noticed when we walked through the foyer was how organized the home is and all the interesting pieces of art displayed throughout the home. Asia, short for Joanna in Polish culture, comes from a family that appreciates art and some of the artwork was made by her cousin, other pieces were gifts from a friend. We found out that Asia loves photography as she shared some of her work with us and we were quite impressed with her skills!
There is nothing better for us photographers than having clients who have a mature interest and appreciation for the art of photography.
We then went for a walk through neighboring Portage Park, where we took a footpath deeper inside that led us to beautiful flower beds and the perfect backdrop for the engagement session. We lost ourselves in the flowering shrubs and let Joanna and David have fun.
We ended the session at the newly opened “Mia’s Gelato Café” at the northwest corner of the park and indulged ourselves in…well, go there and check it out.
You will not be disappointed!
