Salvage One Wedding Chicago

Salvage One has been on my list of “Places I Wish to Work In” for years now. I’ve had a pleasure of photographing weddings in some amazing venues in and around Chicago yet I’ve never received an inquiry for a wedding at Salvage One. I was overjoyed when Monica and Kyle found my work and decided to put their trust in me to document their wedding at Salvage One. The venue has such an interesting and quirky personality and it is a photographer’s dream to work in too (especially when the weather goes south). One can wonder its hallways for hours and explore fascinating artifacts, sometimes bizarre furniture pieces, functional old table games and most of all a dramatic and gorgeous light (all thanks to some huge loft windows). It’s also an ideal spot for the bride and groom to get their groove on and get ready in. It offers a beautiful bridal suite with vintage furniture and accessories (and yes some gorgeous light). Probably, the best part of Salvage One is its iconic outdoor courtyard with now famous “Chicago” neon sign. When getting married there, a couple gets to experience a unique Chicago venue that offers truly beautiful, all in one, indoor and outdoor space, along with an amazing accessibility. A bonus of course it the location of Salvage One. It sits in an old industrial district that now has became a go to neighborhood for creative types. The atmosphere of the neighborhood is a combination of a gritty Chicago feel and a hipster (in a good sense), artistic vibe. I personally find that combination very inspiring. Enough about Salvage One (I had to get it out of my system) and let’s talk about Kyle and Monica. They are a dream couple to work with: smart, laid back, genuine, passionate, gentle, spontaneous and so much in love with each other. I like to think that the images in this post reflect their beautiful personalities. I’m very lucky to photograph couples who really trust my vision and Kyle and Monica truly allowed me to “run free” with my creativity. They also are madly in love with each other and I know they’ll have an amazing life together. Enjoy their wonderful wedding story below. It’s been truly a pleasure for us to be a part of their wedding day.
