Jackie and Zak are one of the kindest and genuine human beings we had pleasure to work with. Their wedding took place on a hot, and humid afternoon at the Haight in Elgin, IL. I pointed it here because getting married in July in Chicago, may require some extra preparations and patience on part of the bride and groom. The weather is almost always guaranteed to be hot and humid, often mixed with some rain. Jackie and Zak, however did not seem to be bothered at all by somewhat uncomfortable humidity. Throughout the entire wedding, their excitement was palpable and every moment we spent with them, indoors and outdoors, was fun and exciting. They cared deeply about their family and guests but also made plenty of opportunities to cherish their love with each other throughout their wedding day. I hope these feelings come through in these photographs. It was simply a pleasure and honor to observe and document their wedding. .
This was our third wedding we photographed at the Haight in Elgin and every time we work there, it feels as fun as the first time we worked there. What we love about the Height is its historic feel and possibility of having bride and groom get ready inside the venue. From rustic and gritty feel of downtown Elgin to open green fields and woods off the nearby forests, the Haight has access to some fantastic portrait locations in the area. Possibly, the best way to describe may come from venuereports.com site: “Housed in the former Elgin Livery & Storage warehouse, The Haight defines raw elegance. The architectural elements from this historic 1890 building include timber beams, exposed brick and open beamed ceilings. All of which create a spacious, yet cozy environment for guests to socialize.“ The Haight is a really unique and fun place to get married and we wouldn’t mind to photograph more weddings there in the future.
